PROFIBUS is the world leading field bus network with over 25 million installed nodes. With high levels of investment the users demand a good return on investment. The two key areas of concern for the end users are Installation and Diagnostics of PROFIBUS networks. Often a simple problem such as termination can play havoc with the network and result in down time.
The Irish PI Competency Centre (PICC) will be running a series of PROFIBUS Maintenance Technician courses aimed at individuals who are involved in operation, and maintenance of PROFIBUS networks. This is a 2-day course covering both theoretical and practical aspects of the PROFIBUS networks. The course will cover: Introduction & Basic Principles, Cable & connector assembly, Using BT200 & Nettest II, Setting up a PROFIBUS-DP Network, PROFIBUS Addressing, RS 485 and PROFIBUS DP, Basic Principles of Transmission Technology, Grounding and shielding, Test & Measurement tools, Strategy for troubleshooting, Using Bus analyser, and RS485-Measurement Examples. There are also practical sessions after each course module.
